Tasmanian Born and Bred
Knocklofty spirits are entirely hand produced by three couples from diverse backgrounds. The teachers, audiologist and psychologist provide the passion and the ex head-brewer provides the knowledge. Our home-based micro distillery is at the foothills of a beautiful nature reserve called Knocklofty in West Hobart, Tasmania.

Tasmanian Spirit
We make our own grain-free spirit from scratch using pure Tasmanian water.

Tasmanian Ethos
We built our own still using repurposed materials and recycle to reduce our footprint. We source locally and our garden gins use rescued excess fruit.

Tasmanian Size
We are a very small distillery. Our run size is 70 bottles and our garden gins are very limited seasonal releases.

Tasmanian Passion
Each botanical is distilled separately. We pick excess fruit from West Hobart gardens and berries from secret locations for our cherry, mulberry, quince, damson and sloe gins. We slow bake our quinces and grate the limes and lemons.

Tasmanian Pride
Like other Tasmanians, we’re pretty laid back and honest but fiercely proud about our State and produce. Dark Mofo patrons loved our Hot Apple gin and we won the best beverage stall at Festivale in 2020. During the pandemic, we turned to making hand sanitiser, giving most of it to local hospitals, shelters, restaurants and bottle shops.
